After a 38-year career (eight with PLDG), Senior Content Director Karen Travis will be leaving at the end of January to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Those who worked with Karen will know just how much her warm, welcoming personality and strategic, brilliant writing will be missed.
Karen first crossed paths with PLDG in 2002, when she was a client with Willis Towers Watson. In 2014, Peggy hired her as the agency’s lead content strategist, bringing in Karen’s many years of marketing and communications expertise to complement the design team. She has led some of our most strategic and sophisticated campaigns, including branding and consumer engagement work for UnitedHealthcare, Optum, AARP, Andersen Windows, MGS Machine, Mortenson, Ecolab and Medtronic, as well as work for numerous nonprofit organizations.
As a skilled strategist, Karen has the unique ability to distill highly complex information into easily understood concepts, with content that is engaging and informative. From overarching campaign messaging to catchy, single-use communication pieces, her words highlighted vital information to help audiences better understand exactly what they needed to know and do.
Karen’s excellent work led to increased demand for PLDG’s writing services. As a result, our writing team now consists of four full-time writers supported by a roster of talented contractors. Thanks to Karen’s leadership and guidance, this team is well-poised to continue delivering high-quality work that exceeds client expectations.
Please join us in celebrating Karen’s accomplishments and wishing her the best as she starts a brand-new (and relaxing) next chapter! You can send congratulatory wishes to email@example.com.
